Akbük is the center of Turkey's favorite coast. The town is situated between Bodrum and Altinkum and is a perfect holiday location, set in a beautiful natural environment, which is covered with protected forest and olive trees. The region has many beaches and small bays and is loved by foreign and local tourist, it also has the highest oxygen ratio and the lowest level of humidity in Turkey, which makes it one of the healthiest places to be.
The climate is warm with a cool breeze, to cool you down in the height of the summer months. The village is virtually unspoilt with no high-rise apartments allowed to be built. Akbük is also a popular holiday place for the Turkish people.
Akbük harbor is host to many boat tours, visiting the nearby islands, fishing trips and pleasure cruises. On Fridays you can browse round the local market and pick up a bargain or buy the local fresh fruit and vegetables, which are delightful.
There are a growing number of small cafes and bars offering traditional Turkish cuisine along the bay and you can sit, have çay or a beer and just chill in peace and tranquility. | |
